The rotary drum sieve system drives adjustable airflow through the abrasive media stream falling by gravity in order to remove dust and fine particulate matter from media still in good working condition.

The drum is made of perforated steel to allow abrasive media in good condition to fall through back in the storage hopepr located underneath and intergates a worm screw that moves the large derbis to a waste discharge located at the end of the drum.

This self-cleaning, low-maintenance abrasive media recovery system is suitable for most blast booth abrasive recovery systemns available in the market, including pneumatic and mechanical systems.

When the dirty media mix exits the air wash separator system, it has three possible outcomes:

  1. Light particles – dust, paint chips, rust, scale, airborne particles, etc. are drafted away and diverted to the dust collector, leaving only abrasive media pieces.
  2. Large debris – large pices that did not get exhausted to the dust collector, but that are too large to fall through the perforated drum will be hauled by the worm screw to the end of the system.
  3. Compliant abrasive media – only good reusable media falls rthgouth the perforated drum into the media storage hopper for further blasting operations.

Improperly configured airflow and deflectors will either divert good reusable media into the rejection barrel, or rather the opposite, allow shattered blast media and large pieces of processed by-products to fall down into the pressure blast pot or the waste discharge.

However, you do not have to worry about this. The airflow only needs to be set once, and this is part of the machine startup procedures that will be handled by our qualified technicians. Also, since potentially harmful large pieces of debris are trapped bny the floor pit grating protection and can removed before they enter the recovery system, there is no risk of wearing out your blasting equipment at this point. It is solely a question of process optimization by allowing only abrasive media still in optimal working condition to reach the blast pot.
